ScaleStick

ScaleStick is a special HydroBlend feed system developed to be used with standard filter head & housings. Where standard HydroBlend systems utilize flow-thru medial deliver heads, the ScaleStick based systems use standard filter heads to dispense the product.

ScaleStick cartridges fit standard 10" filter housings
allowing them to be used in existing applications.

If sediment filtration or carbon block filtration is
still desired in the same housing, the SSW ScaleStick
with a Sediment Wrap or a Carbon Wrap can be used
in the once housing.

The ScaleStick water treatment line includes a variety of cartridge configurations allowing their use in many different water treatment applications. The ScaleStick feed system can be tailored to meet various equipment or user demands including flow rates, frequency of use, and desired treatment duration.

ScaleStick Cartridges
SS-10 (Standard ScaleStick)	The SS-10 ScaleStick is a stand alone cartridge that fits standard 10” water filter housings. It is typically used in foodservice applications, primarily on ice machines where the water usage is generally higher than on most other beverage equipment. Preferred Flow Rate Range-.2-1 gpm Applications - Ice Machines, High Volume Coffee , Steamers, Combination Ovens, Proofers, RO Pretreatment
SSW-10 (Wrap ScaleStick)	The SSW-10 has the same treatment parameter as the SS-10 ScaleStick but is modified to accept a sediment filter or carbon filter that fits around the SSW. The shorter sediment of carbon wrap still allows visual inspection of the ScaleStick to determine when replacement is needed without having to handle the cartridge. Like the SS-10, the SSW with a Sediment or Carbon Wrap fits standard 10” housings.
SS-XL (Large ScaleStick)	The SS-XL ScaleStick is designed for higher flow rates found in applications including foodservice, residential, and light commercial. Its larger diameter makes it suitable for small ware wash applications and some POE installations in small establishments. Residential applications include water treatment prior to water heating systems, primarily tankless water heaters and can be placed on the hot water side or whole house depending on usage. Preferred Flow Rate Range- 1-2 gpm Applications - Small Warewash, Water Heaters (Especially Tankless), RO Pretreatment
SS-EXT (Extra Large ScaleStick)	The SS-EXT ScaleStick is designed for some foodservice, residential, and light commercial applications. Its larger diameter makes it suitable for medium size ware wash applications and some POE installations in small establishments. Residential applications include whole house water treatment. Preferred Flow Rate Range- 2-4 gpm Applications - Warewash, Whole House, RO Pretreatment
SS-MAX (Ext. Long Large ScaleStick)	The SS-MAX ScaleStick is a longer version of the SS-EXT that was designed for some foodservice and light commercial applications. Its sizer makes it suitable for higher demand ware wash applications and some POE installations. Its feed rate is similar to that for the SS-EXT, however the length of the cartridge allows for longer treatment periods in between cartridge replacements. Preferred Flow Rate Range- 2-6 gpm Applications - Flight Type or high usage Warewash, POE applications, RO Pretreatment
Although all ScaleStick cartridges allow water to flow at much higher flow rates than their preferred flow rate range, choosing the correct cartridge for the specific application will ensure proper feed rates and treatment duration. The preferred flow rate range is the average flow rate encountered in a specific application. For example, even though a household may occasionally flow 10 gpm if enough faucets or appliances are being used, the typical average flow in a residential application is one faucet on at a time or 1-3 gpm depending on the outlet. All applications are sized for the average flow rate encountered, not peak flow rates.


ScaleStick Systems
PF-10-SS	Standard Filter Housing with ScaleStick.	DESCRIPTION The PF-10-SS series utilizes a standard filter housing. Cut off valve required prior to unit for filter replacement. Available in 3/4", 1/2", and 3/8" inlet/outlet connections. APPLICATION Low flow rate & volume applications (< 2 gpm). Individual steamer or combi-oven. Coffee, espresso, & tea machines. Hot water dispensers, bread proofers, deck and rack ovens, & ice machines under 1600 lbs. Small Commercial RO Pretreatment.

FA-SS-SD-TW	Twin ScaleStick System w/ Sediment Pre-filter	DESCRIPTION Twin ScaleStick System comes complete with twin mounting bracket, (2) ball valves, & filter wrench. Pre-filtration flexibility and higher loading capacities. APPLICATION Moderate flow rate & volume applications (1-4 gpm). Individual steamer or combi-oven where usage is 6 hours plus per day. Multiple coffee, espresso, & tea machines. Hot water dispensers, bread proofers, & ice machines under 800 lbs.
